Chinese Medicine

Although, until recent years, traditional Chinese medicine has been a mystery to the western world it has, in fact, been a daily part of Chinese life originating back to 3,000 years B.C. Today over 60% of the world's population use Chinese medicine. The number of acupucture users is estimated at 20 million in Europe, alone. Chinese medicine is a truly holistic form of medicine aimed at the treatment of the whole body rather than just the symptoms. Encompassing Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Tui na Massage, Dietary Therapy, and exercise (Q) Gong, Tai Chi) etc., Chinese medicine can be used to successfully treat many types of disease (see list on far right of this page). It can also be used to prevent illness, increase immunity and enhance longevity.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese art of healing which consists of inserting very fine needles into the skin at preciese acupuncture points. It is used to regulate the meridians or channels of the body which unblocks the stagnation of "Qi"(energy). These Channels are related to the internal organs which if out of balance can cause disease and pain. Acupuncture effectively relieves pain and corrects the imbalances of the body. Its simple application, wide range of use, and good curative effect are the reasons why more and more people decide to receive acupuncture treatments.

Herbal Medicine

The art of Chinese herbal medicine has been in use for over 5,000 years and has been regarded as "the world's oldest, safest, and most comprehensive system of medical care." It is based on the use of herbs extracted from plants that possess powerful healing substances able to retore health by correcting imbalances of the human body. All herbs are specially farmed in China and include flowers, leaves, stalks, seeds, barks and roots. Each herb has healing properties which are used for specific purposes and perform particular functions. The herbal prescription will be made according to each patient's indvidual condidtion. In order to get to the root of the problem, the herbs are cooked and drunk as a decoction(tea) or taken in tablet form.

Tui Na

Tui Na Massage is an integral part of traditional Chinese medicine. This therapeutic massage is designed to treat disease by applying the right amount of pressure to release obstructions from the meridians or weak areas of the body. It is an effective, comfortable and harmless therappy for a wide variety of disorders; especially valuable for relieving pain and stress-related conditions.
